Advocating for your child or children can be time consuming and frustrating. Because you are not a lawyer, you may not know or understand all of the laws. You have to research and ask people lots of questions pertaining to your child or children’s case. Finding legal representation may not be easy and many families can’t afford lawyers. It will take some time to come to some resolution but think of it as making a difference for your child and others.
You can take courses that will assist you with becoming a better advocate. Make sure that you communicate effectively and follow the laws. You will feel fatigued at times but it’s essential that your child or children are aware that you have their backs. Be alert and assertive, you will need to ask many questions and do lots of reading. It’s essential that you take a break from time to time. Advocating is not an easy task but it’s rewarding to know that you have made a difference and created a safe environment for your child and others.
